chris and i are moved into our house! well, we still have a ton of boxes all over the place, but its starting to come together. the garage was a mess of construction tools and leftovers, so chris cleaned it out and organized it today to make room for some boxes from the house. we have so much stuff right now and we are still trying to figure out where to put it all. its harder to see what our options are when there are boxes everywhere, so we cleared most of them out.
i started the last of the painting projects (i say this as if there will ever be a last painting project, that is doubtful). today i taped up all the counters/floors/walls in the kitchen and started painting the cabinets. this is a much bigger project than it seems. the easy part is taking down the doors and pulling out the drawers. after that you gotta clean everything... its amazing how much dirt and grime build up on those things. i dont know what the previous owner was doing, but all the doors were getting stuck, i had to use a chisel to get one open!
after they are clean, then you gotta tape everythign up to protect it from paint drips and stray brush strokes... ugh, i went through a whole roll of blue tape!
so i finally got a chance to primer them... omg this was the worst job... there are so many corners, and edges to paint, and its either over your head or close to the ground. i say; never again. next time i am just gonna buy new ones!
but i have to admit, after the first of three coats, the kitchen already looks so much better! i promise to post pictures soon... i have to find the usb for my camera...
